All UK employers, self-employed and people in control of work premises
Statutory duty to report specified workplace injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences to the Health and Safety Executive.
Key Points
- Death of any person: report without delay
- Specified injuries (fractures, amputations, loss of sight): within 10 days
- Over-7-day injury preventing normal work: within 15 days
- Occupational diseases (carpal tunnel, severe cramp, occupational dermatitis, asthma)
- Dangerous occurrences (collapse, explosion, electrical short circuit causing fire)

Penalties
Unlimited fines on conviction. HSE can also issue Improvement and Prohibition Notices.
